Lead AI Transformation Engineer As a Lead AI Transformation Engineer, you will join the Issuer Solutions team to advance AI-driven engineering practices and establish technical excellence across the portfolio. You will be responsible for setting engineering standards, conducting architecture and code reviews, and defining reusable patterns for teams working with Java/Spring, .NET, Angular, and Python. Your daily work involves bridging the gap between corporate platform teams and delivery units by integrating AI-assisted development tools into workflows to improve quality and throughput. You will also provide technical training and mentor engineers on architectural thinking and AI fluency. The role focuses on modernizing legacy systems by integrating mainframe technologies like Assembler and COBOL with distributed platforms, cloud-native environments including OpenShift and AWS/Azure/GCP, and modern SQL or No-SQL databases to solve complex infrastructure challenges within the financial services domain.

What you'll do

  • Establish engineering standards for code quality, architecture patterns, CI/CD practices, and security across the portfolio.
  • Conduct solution architecture reviews and code reviews for Java, .NET, Angular, and Python technologies.
  • Define reusable patterns, reference implementations, and decision frameworks for independent team adoption.
  • Translate corporate platform mandates into actionable delivery plans for development teams.
  • Evaluate, pilot, and operationalize AI-assisted engineering tools to improve quality and throughput.
  • Identify systemic quality issues and build internal tools or contribute to critical-path code as needed.
  • Deliver technical training and mentoring on AI adoption and architectural thinking to senior engineers.

What we're looking for

  • Must have 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 5 years at a staff, principal, or architect level.
  • Requires 8+ years of hands-on experience with mainframe and distributed technologies, including Assembler, COBOL, and Java-based enterprise applications.
  • Requires 8+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and AppOps practices including production support and incident management.
  • Requires 8+ years of experience with cloud-native and containerized environments like OpenShift, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Requires 8+ years of experience with modern databases (SQL, No-SQL) and mainframe data stores.
  • Requires 5+ years of experience in modernizing and integrating mainframe systems with distributed platforms using microservices and APIs.
  • Requires 3+ years of experience adopting and championing AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military experience.
