TL;DR · Junior Full Stack Software Engineer

Junior Full Stack Software Engineer (Hybrid) is an early-career role focused on building secure, scalable, and intuitive business applications within a human-and-agent delivery model. The engineer will work across the full software development lifecycle to design, develop, test, and maintain features while participating in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning and daily stand-ups. Day-to-day tasks include creating accessible user-interface components, integrating backend services and APIs, and performing production support. The role requires proficiency in JavaScript, React, Stencil.js, Java, and Spring Boot, along with knowledge of HTML, CSS, REST APIs, JSON, and Git. A critical component involves applying generative AI responsibly to improve engineering outcomes, including code generation and automated testing. This position addresses the challenge of delivering high-quality, maintainable software in a complex environment while integrating AI-assisted tools into standard development workflows.

What you'll do

  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain full-stack features using JavaScript, React, Stencil.js, Java, and Spring Boot.
  • Build accessible, reusable UI components and integrate them with secure backend services and APIs.
  • Translate user stories and technical designs into high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality.
  • Resolve production issues and troubleshoot application defects in a timely manner.
  • Use approved AI-assisted tools for research, code generation, testing, and documentation while validating all outputs.
  • Integrate AI agents into the engineering workflow by providing clear context and guardrails.
  • Follow established standards for source control, security, performance, and peer reviews.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 1–3 years of relevant software development experience including internships, co-op assignments, academic projects, or professional experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing web applications with JavaScript and React.
  • Familiarity with Stencil.js or a comparable web-component framework.
  • Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend application or RESTful API development.
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, web accessibility, REST APIs, JSON, and modern software development practices.
  • Experience using Git and participating in collaborative source-control workflows including branching, pull requests, and peer reviews.
  • Knowledge of relational/non-relational databases, application security principles, automated testing, and Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about AI and the ability to explain how it can be used responsibly to improve SDLC activities.
  • Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, microservices, cloud platforms, containers, CI/CD pipelines, or DevOps practices (preferred).
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks and quality practices such as TDD or BDD (preferred).
  • Projects or certifications involving generative AI, machine learning, AI coding assistants, or agentic workflows (preferred).
  • Experience using AI tools for test cases, documentation, code reviews, or root-cause analysis with human validation (preferred).
