JOB TITLE: IT Project Manager
The IT Project Manager leads a team of data engineers, data operations specialists, and data architects to operationalize Army data within the Army Data Platform. You will oversee end-to-end data operations, ensuring the delivery, quality, and reliability of data pipelines, cleansing processes, engineering workflows, and platform operations. Responsibilities include translating mission requirements into engineering tasks, guiding Agile ceremonies, and managing data integration, quality, lineage, and automation. You will utilize skills in ETL/ELT pipelines, data orchestration, schema management, and API integrations. The role requires expertise in data governance, security standards, and troubleshooting complex research workloads. You will support the design and operation of enterprise data platforms, including Palantir Foundry, to provide mission-ready data for analytics and AI workloads while interfacing with senior DoD stakeholders.
Oversee end-to-end data operations including the delivery, quality, and reliability of data pipelines and engineering workflows.
Translate Army mission requirements into actionable engineering tasks for a team of data engineers and architects.
Shape the roadmap for data integration, data quality, lineage, and automation across the Army Data Platform.
Guide Agile ceremonies and implement metrics to monitor data health and operational performance.
Troubleshoot issues related to data pipelines, schema management, API integrations, and workflow automation.
Develop high-confidence execution plans and define project scope for Army programs.
Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of data engineering and operations specialists.
Ensure data environment security, stability, and compliance with governance standards across all Army data assets.
What we're looking for
8+ years of experience leading data operations or data engineering teams, including oversight of ETL/ELT pipelines and data orchestration.
8+ years of experience partnering with government organizations and senior Army stakeholders while managing dispersed, cross-functional technical teams.
8+ years of experience supporting the design, development, and operation of enterprise data platforms or large-scale analytics ecosystems.
Experience troubleshooting data pipelines, schema management, data quality, API integrations, and workflow automation.
Experience using client relationships and acquisition knowledge to shape strategy, define scope, and deliver execution plans for Army programs.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies, data quality, governance standards, and security considerations for Army data assets.
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree (preferred: Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics; Master's degree in these fields is a plus).
