JOB TITLE: iOS Engineer - Wallet The iOS Engineer - Wallet joins the Wallet Engineering team to build technology replacing the physical wallet. Depending on the specific sub-team, the role involves developing user-facing features for transit cards, NFC Express mode, and digital IDs, or building financial products like Apple Card, Apple Savings, and Apple Cash. Engineers also work on the Core Wallet Experience, maintaining frameworks for coupons, membership passes, and boarding passes. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing high-level user interfaces, writing background processing and networking code, and creating frameworks for internal and third-party use. Candidates should possess programming skills in Swift and/or Objective-C, user-interface experience, and knowledge of software architecture, performance optimization, and memory management. What you'll do

Develop high-level user interfaces for the Wallet app and its various financial products.
Write background processing and networking code to support core app functionality.
Build and maintain frameworks for use by internal Apple teams and third-party developers.
Implement features for transit cards, digital IDs, and secure NFC/UWB access technologies.
Develop and evolve financial products including Apple Card, Apple Savings, and Apple Cash.
Optimize software performance and memory management across various OS software layers.
Solve unique technical challenges to deliver innovative solutions for millions of global users.
Maintain Apple's strict performance and privacy standards across all Wallet features.

What we're looking for

2-5 years of strong programming skills, preferably with Swift and/or Objective-C.
2-5 years of user-interface programming experience.
Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
Passion for product quality and attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle dynamic project priorities.
Deep understanding of software architecture, performance optimization, and memory management across OS software layers (preferred).
BS in Computer Science or equivalent (preferred).
Experience developing on iOS, macOS, and/or watchOS (preferred).
Experience incorporating AI tools into the development process (preferred).
