JOB TITLE: iOS Engineer - Wallet The Wallet Engineering team is seeking an iOS Engineer to develop features for a platform that replaces the physical wallet. Depending on the specific team assignment, you will work on Transit, Access, Identity, and Provisioning, First Party Products like Apple Card and Apple Cash, or the Core Wallet Experience. Your daily responsibilities include building high-level user interfaces, writing background processing and networking code, and developing frameworks for internal and third-party use. You will utilize Swift and Objective-C to solve complex technical challenges involving NFC Express mode, UWB Passive Entry, and secure provisioning. The role requires deep knowledge of software architecture, performance optimization, and memory management to deliver polished experiences for boarding passes, transit cards, and digital IDs while maintaining rigorous privacy standards.

What you'll do

Develop high-level user interfaces for Wallet products including transit cards and digital IDs.
Write background processing and networking code to support global-scale features.
Build and maintain frameworks used by internal teams and third-party developers.
Optimize application performance for fast launch times and smooth scrolling.
Implement secure features for NFC Express mode, UWB Passive Entry, and Apple Pay.
Develop financial products including Apple Card, Apple Savings, and Apple Cash.
Ensure all Wallet interactions meet Apple's rigorous performance and privacy standards.

What we're looking for

BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
5+ years of strong programming skills, preferably with Swift and/or Objective-C.
5+ years of user-interface programming experience.
Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
Passion for product quality and attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle dynamic project priorities.
Deep understanding of software architecture, performance optimization, and memory management across OS software layers (preferred).
Experience developing on iOS, macOS, and/or watchOS (preferred).
Experience incorporating AI tools into the development process (preferred).
