The Integration & Test Automation Engineer joins the I&T Automation Engineering team to synthesize and define test processes for complex electro-optical and electro-mechanical systems. This role involves developing automated test plans, procedures, and cases while performing software and hardware development for automated test processes. The engineer will execute tests, analyze results, troubleshoot stations, and lead root cause investigations. Key responsibilities include transitioning manual processes to automated ones, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting design reviews for testability. Required technical skills include proficiency in NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, IBM Rational DOORS, TestRail, MBSE, and the Atlassian Suite. Candidates must also possess experience with hardware like oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers. Domain expertise is required in either Broadband RF/Microwave and Antenna testing or Electro-Optical Imaging testing to solve complex integration challenges for mission-critical systems.
Develop software and hardware for automated test processes.
Create automated test plans, procedures, and specific test cases.
Execute automated tests and analyze the resulting data.
Troubleshoot automated test stations and lead root cause and corrective action efforts.
Provide technical guidance on automated test tools to engineering development teams.
Support internal and external design reviews to ensure systems are designed for testability.
Perform failure trend analysis to identify and resolve issues quickly.
Mentor less tenured engineers on the Integration & Test Automation Engineering team.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience, a graduate degree and 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
Ability to obtain a US DOD Secret Clearance (requires US Citizenship).
Proficiency in IBM Rational DOORS, TestRail, MBSE, and the Atlassian Suite.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project.
Advanced competency in NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand.
Experience with test hardware including Programmable Power Supplies, DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, and Fiber Optic Scope Meters.
Expertise in either Broadband RF/Microwave and Antenna testing or Electro-Optical Imaging testing.
Strong presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
