Integration and Test Engineer (Surrogate)

What you'll do

• Lead the planning, integration, and execution of flight test activities using surrogate platforms and powertrain rigs.
• Develop and execute test plans to capture performance data for subsystems before integration into final air vehicles.
• Integrate vehicle and mission system components onto surrogate platforms to characterize performance in representative flight envelopes.
• Coordinate crewed surrogate operations including pod integration, instrumentation, pre-flight checks, and mission planning.
• Support subscale UAS flight operations to assist software and subsystem development teams.
• Manage test range access, airspace approvals, and spectrum authorizations across domestic and international locations.
• Implement processes for configuration control of surrogate test assets and installed instrumentation.
• Support Flight Test Instrumentation integration to provide real-time telemetry data during surrogate flights.

What we're looking for

• Hold a Bachelor degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Have 5+ years of experience in flight test operations, preferably with uncrewed or autonomous air systems.
• Experience integrating subsystems, payloads, and flight test instrumentation (FTI) including telemetry and real-time monitoring onto flight platforms.
• Possess knowledge of airspace management, flight test safety, and test range operations.
• Demonstrate proficiency working safely with high voltage systems, including integration, checkout, and testing.
• Maintain a strong test engineering foundation in DAQ setup, sensor installation, and communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, and Serial.
• Be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance in the United States, United Kingdom, or Australia.
• Experience with surrogate or test-bed aircraft operations and unconventional configurations like tail-sitter or VTOL (preferred).
