Infrastructure Platform Engineer
As part of the Infrastructure & Service Operations team, you will ensure the security, reliability, and availability of systems supporting engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operations for high-speed coherent optical networking technology. You will strengthen the resilience of internal platforms by providing hands-on technical support for servers, virtualization, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, and backup systems. Your daily work involves resolving complex connectivity issues, developing runbooks, and coordinating hardware maintenance to minimize downtime in critical test environments. To succeed, you must possess expertise in VMware, Windows and Linux servers, and enterprise storage. You will utilize tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell DSC for automation and configuration management. The role addresses the technical challenge of maintaining stable infrastructure for developing optical modules while managing the increased demands of AI-driven data center traffic.
Provide hands-on technical support for VMware, Windows/Linux servers, and enterprise storage systems.
Resolve complex connectivity and backend integrity issues to minimize downtime for critical test environments.
Develop and maintain robust documentation, runbooks, and escalation procedures to improve operational efficiency.
Partner with security and network teams to balance system performance with organizational security requirements.
Coordinate hardware maintenance, lifecycle support, and physical installation tasks for infrastructure components.
Automate and improve repeatable infrastructure operations using scripting, configuration management tools, or APIs.
Manage incident response by diagnosing production issues and coordinating resolutions across distributed sites.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in infrastructure, systems, or platform environments.
Five or more years of experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise infrastructure, including virtualization platforms and Windows Server environments.
Professional experience in at least four areas: Linux, storage, backup/recovery, identity services, monitoring, or network services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Experience improving operations through scripting, automation, configuration management, APIs, or comparable tooling.
Experience performing or coordinating data center and hardware work including installation, cabling, and vendor coordination.
Support of R&D, manufacturing, or supply-chain environments (preferred).
Specific expertise using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and/or PowerShell DSC (preferred).
Relevant VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, Linux, cloud, automation, or IT service-management certifications (preferred).
