JOB TITLE: Head of Engineering - Investment Accounting, MD The Head of Investment Accounting Engineering will lead the design, development, and operation of a modern, cloud-native, scalable investment accounting platform. This leader will oversee engineering teams building accounting engines, rules frameworks, event processing, reconciliation, and reporting services. The role involves driving the adoption of technologies including Snowflake, Kafka, Postgres, Kubernetes, and Redis, while leveraging AI tools for agent-based development and embedded capabilities like anomaly detection. The position requires deep expertise in investment accounting processes, including ABOR/IBOR, corporate actions, and cash management. The work focuses on solving complex problems in enterprise capital markets and asset servicing by ensuring financial correctness, auditability, and high-throughput event handling for multi-asset class accounting. The leader must ensure systems meet strict SLOs for availability, latency, and deterministic processing within a global, multi-tenant environment.

What you'll do

  • Define and execute the long-term vision and platform strategy for a next-generation investment accounting product.
  • Lead engineering teams in building accounting engines, rules frameworks, event processing, and reporting services.
  • Implement cloud-native, event-driven architectures to enable real-time processing and high-throughput data handling.
  • Develop and embed AI capabilities within accounting workflows for reconciliation, anomaly detection, and data access.
  • Deliver against platform-level SLOs for availability, latency, and data correctness while ensuring deterministic processing.
  • Ensure the platform incorporates automated DevOps, Product Security, and SaaS operations models.
  • Fulfill all banking controls, auditability requirements, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a multi-disciplinary engineering organization across global geographies.

What we're looking for

  • 20+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in investment accounting or financial platforms.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale finance and accounting platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of accounting processes, NAV, reconciliations, and multi-asset support.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Hands-on background in modern DevOps, Product Security, and DataOps practices including Kubernetes and CI/CD.
  • Hands-on experience implementing AI tools such as LLMs and Agents.
  • Engineering or Finance degree (preferred).
