As a Hardware Engineering Program Manager (HW EPM) at our Audio Product Design team, you will lead the technical management of electrical design development and implementation, driving day-to-day activities to meet key program objectives. This involves coordinating with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to manage build schedules, set timelines, and ensure timely completion through effective communication and collaboration. You will establish and maintain a clear feature baseline, schedule, budget, and critical paths while identifying technical risks and mitigation strategies. The role requires expertise in product development processes, manufacturing, and electrical engineering fundamentals, with experience in flex/MLB/module/SMT manufacturing highly desirable. This position demands strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage complex projects and deliver high-quality audio products on schedule.
Manage planning and execution of product prototype builds for Audio Product Design.
Set and communicate clear objectives for build schedules with Contract Manufacturer partners.
Lead multi-functional engineering team meetings to discuss design scope and timelines.
Identify technical risk areas and develop mitigation strategies in partnership with teams.
Drive MLB/Flex/SiP releases and fabrication kickoff with Hardware Engineering and vendors.
Maintain communication and provide status updates from individual contributors to executive management.
What we're looking for
At least 5 years of experience in program management or electrical engineering design for product development.
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Electrical Engineering (EE), or equivalent experience.
Deep understanding of rapid development cycles and manufacturing processes, including flex/MLB/module/SMT manufacturing.
Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, presentation, and leadership skills.
Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams such as mechanical engineering, manufacturing, systems engineering, reliability, operations, and marketing.
Ability to manage complex design strategies and deliver products with high aesthetic quality.
