The Hardware Engineering Program Manager (HW EPM) joins the Audio Product Design team to manage the technical development and implementation of electrical design and components. This role involves driving day-to-day activities to meet program objectives, focusing on engineering, development planning, and validation cycles. Key responsibilities include managing prototype builds, leading cross-functional teams of electrical, software, and mechanical engineers, and serving as the primary contact for Contract Manufacturer partners. The position requires managing feature baselines, schedules, budgets, and technology risk areas while driving MLB, Flex, and SiP releases. Candidates must possess electrical engineering fundamentals, knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes, and experience with rapid development cycles. The role solves complex system integration problems and ensures timely completion of high-quality products through detailed design reviews and proactive risk mitigation.
Manage the planning and execution of product prototype builds by directing OEM partners.
Establish and manage the program feature baseline, scheduling, budget, and critical paths.
Identify technical risk areas and develop mitigation strategies in partnership with impacted teams.
Drive MLB/Flex/SiP releases and fabrication kickoffs with hardware engineering and vendors.
Lead multi-functional engineering meetings to define design scope and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Provide regular status updates to both individual contributors and executive management.
Support product definition and drive the closure of architecture and technical opens in early stages.
What we're looking for
BS ME/EE degree or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience leading program management or electrical engineering design of product development.
Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, presentation, and leadership skills (preferred).
Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities (preferred).
Deep understanding of rapid development cycles and ability to remain flexible when faced with uncertainty (preferred).
Knowledge of product development, manufacturing processes, and electrical engineering fundamentals (preferred).
Prior experience with flex/MLB/module/SMT manufacturing and process (preferred).
Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, Reliability, Operations, and Marketing (preferred).
