Flight Test Specialist I

What you'll do

• Develop detailed flight test plans including mission plans, flight cards, and safety hazard assessments.
• Define instrumentation requirements and coordinate with engineering teams for on-aircraft installations.
• Collaborate with engineers and test pilots to define specific test points for aircraft testing.
• Track test point status and provide judgment on the acceptability of collected data.
• Process post-flight data to document results and develop reports showing compliance with requirements.
• Prepare materials and present findings for Test Readiness Reviews and Safety Review Boards.
• Provide real-time direction for test sequences and execution during ground and flight tests.
• Conduct pre-flight briefings and post-flight debriefs with the test crew and engineering teams.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in a technical related curriculum or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of flight test engineering experience or 10 years of broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines.
• Flight Test Engineer Certification may offset one year of the experience requirement.
• Experience performing on-aircraft flight test operations and data analysis.
• Experience writing flight test plans and/or flight test reports.
• Proficiency with MATLAB or Python.
• Experience with data processing and analysis.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
