Firmware Design Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and integrate FPGA-based firmware for advanced RF sensor systems.
• Translate system and signal-processing requirements into digital hardware and FPGA implementations.
• Troubleshoot design issues at the simulation, board, and system levels.
• Create technical documentation including design descriptions, user manuals, and interface control documents.
• Develop test software, scripts, and procedures to verify FPGA functionality in laboratory settings.
• Manage source control, configuration management, peer reviews, and defect tracking for firmware projects.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
• 0 to 5 years of experience developing and implementing firmware designs.
• Familiarity with at least one hardware description language such as VHDL or Verilog.
• Basic understanding of digital design concepts including synchronous logic, FSMs, pipelining, and timing.
• Familiarity with FPGAs and FPGA design development.
• Experience with software configuration management tools.
• Ability to use engineering analysis or scripting tools like MATLAB or Python.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
