Field CTO

What you'll do

• Guide C-level executives through their observability journey, investment decisions, and operational strategies.
• Identify industry trends to inform product development and go-to-market strategies for the Japan region.
• Establish thought leadership in observability and security to showcase Datadog’s advanced solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to sales leaders and customers on ROI and white-space analysis.
• Lead architecture and design engagements to demonstrate how Datadog meets specific customer needs.
• Conduct executive briefings regarding technical architecture, best practices, and industry trends.
• Assist leadership in recruiting and hiring top talent for the Product Solutions Architecture team.

What we're looking for

• At least 15 years of experience in enterprise or application architecture at scale.
• Deep knowledge of the observability space, cloud technologies, and regional technical shifts for the Japan market.
• Experience interacting with and influencing C-level and VP-level stakeholders in large enterprises.
• Ability to deliver high-quality presentations to both technical practitioners and non-technical executives.
• Native-level Japanese proficiency and strong English communication skills in both written and spoken forms.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven ability to link product functionality to business objectives, value realization, and ROI.
• Ability to act as a hands-on technologist while serving as a strategic advisor for long-term technical challenges.
