Facilities & Material Handling Engineer

What you'll do

• Analyze operational data and engineering metrics using specialized software to identify performance improvements.
• Develop and design site layouts, buildings, and material handling systems like sortation equipment.
• Create AutoCAD conveyor layouts and draft comprehensive Request for Quotations (RFQs).
• Manage RFI responses and perform detailed bid evaluations for construction projects.
• Review construction drawings to ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
• Prepare expenditure proposals and cost justification analyses for management review.
• Develop project management documentation including progress reports, meeting minutes, and field communication memos.
• Support vendors on preventative maintenance efforts for material handling and manual sortation equipment.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical/quantitative field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for developing conveyor layouts and drafting designs.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of management.
• Ability to deliver presentations and facilitate training sessions for groups and individuals.
• Skills in project management, including preparing progress reports and meeting minutes.
• Ability to analyze performance data and provide technical recommendations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
