As the Executive Director Data Management Architecture - Employee platforms, you will join the Employee Platforms team to lead the architectural vision for a critical enterprise data platform. You will design and deliver large-scale systems for employee data ingestion, refinement, and access to support various downstream consumption patterns across internal consumers. Your daily responsibilities include defining target-state architectures, establishing reference patterns for modularity, and designing integration patterns for batch and streaming data. You will lead conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling while ensuring high standards for metadata, lineage, and quality management. The role requires expertise in transactional systems, real-time event streaming, and schema evolution to manage complex employee data domains. You will mentor a team of architects and engineers while navigating technical requirements like change data capture, idempotent processing, and privacy-by-design principles within a multi-domain environment.
Define target-state architecture for employee data ingestion, refinement, storage, and access across multiple platforms.
Establish architectural principles and reference patterns to ensure modularity, reusability, and scalability of the platform.
Design ingestion and integration patterns for batch and streaming systems including schema evolution and fault tolerance.
Architect refinement pipelines to produce trusted, standardized datasets and entities for downstream consumption.
Lead conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling while enforcing consistent metadata standards and documentation.
Define architectural controls for data quality, lineage, platform monitoring, and operational support.
Ensure platform designs comply with privacy regulations and firm risk expectations regarding personal information.
Mentor a team of architects and engineers through design reviews and technical guidance.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on data architecture concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate, and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
Significant experience designing and delivering large-scale data platforms including ingestion, transformation, refinement, and access layers.
Demonstrated experience supporting transactional systems and real-time streaming/event-driven architectures for reliability, consistency, and scalability.
Proven ability to design extensible, modular, and evolvable platforms using component-based architecture and well-defined interfaces.
Strong experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, schema versioning, and designing for interoperability.
Experience implementing architecture that supports data governance, metadata, lineage, and quality management in a multi-domain enterprise.
Experience with human resources or employee data domains, privacy-by-design principles, and platform observability (preferred).
