Engineer, Application Development and Maintenance joins the Application Development & Maintenance team to oversee the development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. As a primary Planview and Database Specialist for the PMO Tools Team, you will serve as a subject matter expert for data architecture and integrity while performing advanced platform configuration and system maintenance. You will design and maintain database schemas, develop complex SQL queries, and optimize ETL processes to feed reporting tools like Power BI. Your daily work involves building multi-system integrations with ServiceNow and HR systems using REST/SOAP APIs. The role requires expertise in Planview, Microsoft Power Suite, SSIS, and SSRS to manage enterprise portfolio management data. You will solve complex technical database issues and translate business needs into technical configurations within a collaborative, agile environment to support internal and external business needs.

What you'll do

Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Planview data architecture, schema structures, and data integrity.
Execute advanced Planview platform configuration, administration, and maintenance to support enterprise portfolio management.
Design and maintain database schemas, stored procedures, and indexing strategies to support Planview integrations.
Build and troubleshoot multi-system integrations and scalable data pipelines connecting Planview to systems like ServiceNow and HR platforms.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and ETL processes to feed data into Power BI reporting tools.
Perform database maintenance and query performance tuning on data warehouses and related reporting databases.
Translate business requirements into technical configurations and assist in the onboarding of external teams onto the Planview platform.
Troubleshoot complex technical database and platform issues to provide both short-term and long-term resolutions.

What we're looking for

Preferred 4-8 years of experience in enterprise application development, Planview administration/configuration, or database development/administration.
Preferred Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Preferred experience configuring and managing Planview applications such as Portfolios, Enterprise, or PPM Solutions.
Preferred strong Database Developer/DBA skills including knowledge of architecture, indexing, partitioning, and transactional replication.
Preferred ability to write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers against large ERP/PPM databases.
Preferred experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and optimizing production ETL pipelines.
Preferred proficiency in configuring solutions within Planview and the Microsoft Power Suite to build automated data flows and dashboards.
Preferred hands-on experience building, consuming, and troubleshooting REST/SOAP APIs for multi-system integrations.
