EMC Design Engineer

What you'll do

• Review mechanical designs of enclosures, connectors, and cables for EMC compliance.
• Evaluate PCB schematics and layouts to ensure emissions and immunity control.
• Partner with vendors to define component specifications and validation procedures for system-level requirements.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and supervise the execution and reporting of test results.
• Define validation requirements and train test engineers on data collection at factories and labs.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical causes of EMC failures to find viable design solutions.
• Analyze data from multiple designs and present actionable recommendations to peers and management.

What we're looking for

• A BSEE or equivalent experience is required.
• Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience and/or advanced education in EMC.
• Experience or education in EMC, ESD, RF, and signal integrity areas is required.
• Preferred candidates hold an MSEE or PhD with a specialization in electromagnetic fields and applications.
• Proficiency in electromagnetic modeling and simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, and ADS is preferred.
• Candidates should have experience with Matlab and scripting for test automation and data analysis.
• Knowledge of worldwide EMC regulations, including EN55032, EN55035, IEC61000 series, and ETSI 301 489 series is preferred.
• Experience using lab equipment like spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and transmission line pulsers is preferred.
