JOB TITLE: Embedded Linux Engineer
As an Embedded Linux Engineer, you will join the product development team to develop and maintain real-time PREEMPT-RT Linux-based software for automated electromechanical systems. Your daily responsibilities include designing software interfaces between embedded firmware, DSPs, sensors, and high-level applications, while developing system services, drivers, and middleware for deterministic motion control. You will implement coordinated machine control over industrial fieldbuses like EtherCAT, integrating motors, encoders, and actuators with machine-vision or AI Edge inspection subsystems. The role requires proficiency in C/C++, multithreaded software design, and inter-process communication. You will utilize source control and modern development tools to support the architecture, testing, and deployment of next-generation automation systems, specifically solving technical challenges in robotics, cable installation technologies, and reliable energy delivery systems.
Develop and maintain real-time PREEMPT-RT Linux-based software for automated electromechanical systems.
Design software interfaces between embedded firmware, DSPs, sensors, and higher-level application software.
Develop system services, drivers, and middleware for deterministic, real-time operation of motion-control systems.
Implement coordinated motion and machine control over industrial fieldbuses like EtherCAT.
Integrate control platforms with machine-vision, AI Edge inspection subsystems, and operator HMIs.
Support software architecture, integration, testing, and deployment of next-generation automation systems.
Drive product architecture, feasibility studies, prototyping, and engineering verification.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Master's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
Three or more years of experience in C/C++ software development for embedded systems and real-time operating systems like PREEMPT-RT Linux.
Three or more years of experience with multithreaded and concurrent software design, including inter-process communication and complex hardware/software debugging.
Three or more years of experience using source control and modern software development tools.
Experience with DSP integration, signal processing, or machine control systems (preferred).
Experience developing device drivers or middleware (preferred).
Experience with Python scripting, industrial fieldbus protocols, motion control, or machine-vision integration (preferred).
