Electrical Hardware Engineer, Satellites (Starlink) joins the team responsible for developing the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. This role involves ownership over the entire hardware life-cycle for satellite connectivity, sitting at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, and RF engineering. You will perform system trades, requirements capture, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, and hardware bring-up. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, debugging, and driving production for complex electrical designs. You will work with processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, multi-GHz Serdes, DRAM interfaces, I2C, SPI, and power supply components. The role requires proficiency in Python and C/C++ to support high-speed digital communications, analog, and network system integration. You will solve technical problems regarding avionics bus systems and payload electronics, including phased arrays and custom compute modems.

What you'll do

Develop high-reliability electronics for satellites and spacecraft.
Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, and analysis.

Execute hardware bring-up, debugging, prototyping, and manufacturing.
Support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight.
Monitor and analyze on-orbit performance of electrical designs.
Drive requirements for underlying silicon and complete product production.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or physics.
1+ years of experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware (internships/co-ops can apply).
Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or similar engineering degree (preferred).
2+ years of professional experience rapidly designing and delivering highly reliable products (preferred).
2+ years of experience designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit boards from concept through production (preferred).
2+ years of professional experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics (preferred).
Strong understanding of computers and programming languages such as Python and C/C++ (preferred).
U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
