Electrical Engineer Intern, Labs

What you'll do

• Own an end-to-end hardware project involving an on-board charger, motor control circuit, or test bench.
• Design schematics and select components for power and motor-control electronics.
• Build and assemble hardware prototypes for bench validation.
• Characterize design performance by measuring efficiency, thermal, and control metrics using lab equipment.
• Debug high-current and high-voltage hardware systems safely.
• Document technical results and present final findings to the engineering team.

What we're looking for

• You must be pursuing a B.S. or M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• You must have no more than 2 years of full-time work experience.
• You must be graduating between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
• You must be available for a May or June 2027 start date.
• You must have coursework or project experience in power electronics, including switch-mode converters, gate drives, and magnetics.
• You must understand motor control fundamentals, analog and feedback-control fundamentals, and lithium-ion battery charging.
• You must be able to capture schematics and lay out PCBs using tools such as Altium or KiCad.
• You must have hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes and power supplies to debug high-current, high-voltage hardware.
• You must be able to write Python or C/C++ for instrument automation or microcontroller bring-up.
• You must be able to work onsite at the Oakland, CA office.
