JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer joins the Platform Center of Excellence Controls Hardware Team to drive the selection, integration, validation, and deployment of industrial I/O and control system technologies for advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role involves defining system-level requirements for distributed I/O platforms, control networks, and machine safety architectures while supporting standardization across multiple product lines. The engineer will lead integration and validation of commercial and custom platforms, perform root-cause analysis on complex hardware issues, and manage technical relationships with industrial automation suppliers. Key technologies include EtherCAT, Beckhoff, DDI, PLC-based controls, and industrial serial communication. The position requires expertise in functional safety, machine control systems, and industrial networking to improve reliability and maintainability within the semiconductor manufacturing equipment product portfolio.

What we're looking for

Experience working with distributed I/O systems and industrial control architectures.
Strong understanding of industrial networking technologies including EtherCAT, Ethernet-based industrial protocols, and industrial serial communication.
Experience with control system integration, validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
Familiarity with industrial automation hardware including remote I/O systems, safety controllers, machine control platforms, and industrial communication interfaces.
Strong technical communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
