What you'll do

  • Develop and deploy industrial I/O and machine control system architectures for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Define system requirements for distributed I/O platforms, control networks, and safety systems across multiple product lines.
  • Lead the integration and validation of commercial and custom hardware including controllers, remote I/O modules, and communication networks.
  • Implement industrial networking technologies such as EtherCAT and other Ethernet-based industrial protocols.
  • Evaluate machine safety architectures to ensure compliance with industry standards and equipment requirements.
  • Manage technical relationships with suppliers to align roadmaps and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Conduct technical trade-off analyses regarding performance, reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle costs for control systems.
  • Provide technical leadership during architecture reviews and design reviews to influence cross-functional engineering decisions.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial automation, machine controls, industrial I/O systems, or semiconductor equipment development.
  • Experience working with distributed I/O systems and industrial control architectures.
  • Strong understanding of industrial networking technologies including EtherCAT and Ethernet-based industrial protocols.
  • Experience with control system integration, validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation hardware such as remote I/O systems, safety controllers, and machine control platforms.
  • Strong technical communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with analog and digital mixed signal solutions, machine safety systems, or SEMI S2 requirements (preferred).
