The Display Module Engineer joins the Mac Display Engineering team to lead the development of cutting-edge flat panel displays from initial concept through mass production. This role serves as a technical interface between system design, electrical, optical, and mechanical engineering teams while managing relationships with global supply partners. Key responsibilities include defining display module specifications, architecture, and performance requirements for OLED and advanced panel technologies. The engineer will execute validation plans, perform optical and electrical performance characterization, and conduct data analysis to resolve issues from engineering builds to mass production. Required skills include experience in display technology development, optical system design, or semiconductor optoelectronics, alongside proficiency in Python, MATLAB, JMP, or LabVIEW. The role focuses on elevating front-of-screen performance and user experience for Mac products.
Define and review display module specifications, architecture, and performance requirements for OLED and advanced panel technologies.
Execute validation plans and perform hands-on optical and electrical performance characterization.
Conduct data analysis to ensure display modules meet world-class quality standards.
Validate display modules at the system level and resolve issues from engineering builds through mass production.
Drive failure analysis efforts across internal teams and external vendors.
Develop innovative solutions to improve front-of-screen performance and user experience.
Travel internationally to support development and production ramp at supplier sites.
What we're looking for
BS in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in display technology development, optical system design, semiconductor optoelectronics, or optical sensor technologies.
Experience in data analysis and scripting tools such as Python, MATLAB, JMP, or LabVIEW.
MS, or PhD in EE, Optics, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field (preferred).
Proven track record in OLED panel architecture, TFT and driving circuit design, and display process development in high-volume manufacturing (preferred).
Experience in display performance characterization and validation using bench-top and industry-standard optical measurement systems (preferred).
Experience with optical simulation tools such as LightTools, Zemax, or equivalent (preferred).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills (preferred).
