What you'll do

  • Define long-term laser and optics technology roadmaps for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Lead the development of next-generation laser annealing platforms and system architectures.
  • Drive continuous improvement programs to enhance product reliability, performance, and cost reduction.
  • Manage strategic partnerships and technical relationships with laser, optical, and metrology suppliers.
  • Oversee third-party engineering firms to ensure external developments meet quality and schedule goals.
  • Engage directly with semiconductor customers to translate their requirements into development plans.
  • Generate invention disclosures and build a strategic intellectual property portfolio in laser processing.
  • Mentor and lead a team of physicists, optical engineers, and systems engineers.

What we're looking for

  • Experience with laser annealing, laser spike annealing, or millisecond annealing systems.
  • Experience with high-power (kW-class) lasers.
  • Expertise in advanced optical system design for high power lasers.
  • Experience with semiconductor capital equipment and laser safety systems.
  • Proficiency in wafer temperature metrology and pyrometry.
  • Experience in strategic supplier management and managing outsourced engineering development teams.
  • Ability to lead technical roadmaps, risk assessments, and intellectual property filings.
  • Capability to mentor engineers and provide leadership in a matrix team environment.
