Director of Privacy Engineering, Services

What you'll do

• Lead the privacy engineering organization by setting technical direction, defining team structure, and recruiting top talent.
• Direct the design, development, and operation of privacy-enabling services, tools, and platforms across Apple Services.
• Develop foundational approaches to ensure systems are privacy-preserving by design for all product teams.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership to shape product decisions and drive organization-wide privacy investments.
• Establish and scale privacy guidance, best practices, and training programs across the division.
• Invent rigorous privacy solutions specifically tailored to address emerging challenges in AI and machine learning.
• Operate systems that ensure continuous compliance with global regulations such as GDPR.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 15+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years leading engineering organizations with multiple layers of management.
• 3+ years in privacy leadership.
• Expertise in designing and operating large-scale privacy systems and infrastructure.
• Command of privacy-enhancing technologies including differential privacy, federated learning, and on-device processing.
• Proven track record of recruiting and developing high-performing engineering cultures at scale.
• Experience navigating privacy challenges specific to AI/ML, such as training data governance and model inference.
