  • Lead a team of 15 internal engineers and manage over 100 contract workers from strategic partners.
  • Translate technical data engineering trade-offs into business value, risk, and cost impacts to influence investment decisions.
  • Oversee major initiatives including platform modernization, data product creation, and the automation of data quality controls.
  • Design and govern target-state patterns for pipelines, metadata layers, and audit-ready delivery in a regulated environment.
  • Establish engineering standards for schema design, lineage, security, and interoperability across all development data initiatives.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate strategic tools to build long-term data engineering capabilities.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in the field.
  • Proven success building and leading high-performing teams with solid and matrixed reporting structures.
  • Experience shaping roadmaps, target-state architectures, and major investment decisions for modernization and scale.
  • Proven success designing data architectures including products, feature stores, monitoring, and governance in regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives by translating technical choices into business value and financial implications.
  • Experience establishing enterprise governance mechanisms, architecture review processes, and standards adoption models.
  • Strong financial and strategic acumen regarding portfolio prioritization, investment planning, and vendor strategy.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering (preferred).
  • Prior experience as an enterprise architect or head of architecture in a data/AI-intensive organization (preferred).
