Director, Head of Legal Discovery & Strategy

What you'll do

• Lead the global Discovery Program to manage litigation and regulatory dockets across all business units.
• Oversee the work of discovery teams to ensure results are defensible, compliant, and impactful.
• Direct the execution of discovery programs while implementing best practices for continuous improvement.
• Build scalable programmatic solutions and infrastructure to support matter-level execution.
• Advise executives on proactive risk management and technical discovery concepts.
• Evaluate and report on discovery status and data management recommendations to senior leadership.
• Manage vendor relationships, outside counsel, and cross-functional teams of attorneys and analysts.
• Integrate emerging technologies like AI and machine learning to improve discovery efficiency.

What we're looking for

• 12–15+ years of experience managing large-scale discovery in an in-house legal department, government agency, or law firm.
• Experience designing vendor strategy and scaled program management.
• Strong understanding of the legal standards governing discovery compliance.
• Knowledge of digital forensics strategies and best practices.
• JD or equivalent degree and admission to at least one US state bar.
• Experience building and mentoring high-performing teams while remaining engaged in substantive legal work.
• Demonstrated record of using automation, AI, machine learning, or other emerging technologies to improve discovery efficiency.
• Executive-level communication skills to convey risk strategies and technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
