Director, Data and AI Product Owner, Research

What you'll do

• Define and lead the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for AI-enabled research capabilities.
• Translate complex research needs into prioritized product requirements and actionable backlog items.
• Partner with senior leadership to identify high-impact AI opportunities and develop business cases.
• Manage a portfolio of AI products while ensuring alignment with data architecture and platform constraints.
• Define and track success metrics such as cost reduction, productivity gains, and user adoption.
• Lead and mentor a team of Product Owners and Product Managers.
• Drive change management initiatives including user experience design, training, and communication strategies.
• Manage vendor and partner strategies for AI/LLM capabilities and external development capacity.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience or a Master’s/PhD with 10+ years of experience in a relevant field.
• Deep understanding of drug discovery and development processes.
• Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager translating business needs into scalable data and AI solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management skills to serve as a trusted advisor to senior research leaders.
• Demonstrated business and financial acumen to evaluate ROI and cost-to-value trade-offs.
• Solid understanding of data and AI architecture concepts and familiarity with platforms like Databricks and AWS.
• Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using metrics-driven approaches for prioritization.
• Experience with AI/ML in drug discovery, generative AI use cases, or scientific platforms (ELN, LIMS, HPC) is preferred.
