What you'll do

Direct the technical strategy and execution for ongoing customer-funded space systems from concept through production.
Lead functional disciplines for optical, electrical, and mechanical assemblies to ensure consistency across technology roadmaps.
Drive innovation in technical competencies including composite optics, smart payloads, and on-board processing.
Provide technical leadership for system modeling and analysis of VIS and IR instruments and payload electronics.
Identify IR&D efforts aligned with technology roadmaps to create unique technology differentiators.
Lead new pursuits with an emphasis on technical baseline rigor, cost justification, and risk management.
Resolve technical issues by identifying root causes and executing necessary corrective actions.
Mentor lower-level engineering staff to develop them into future subject matter experts.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or similar technical field with 15 years of relevant engineering experience.
Graduate degree with 13 years of related experience or 19 years of experience without a degree.
Experience working within the aerospace and defense industry.
At least 3 years of functional management experience leading a large team of over 50 resources across multiple disciplines.
Experience with requirements elicitation, systems architecture, interface standards, and end-to-end flow analysis.
Active Secret security clearance.
5+ years of Space Systems domain ground system knowledge (preferred).
U.S. citizens.
