TL;DR · Digital Mixed Signal Modeling Engineer

As a Digital Mixed Signal Modeling Engineer at Apple, you will join the PMU ASIC team to design and develop SystemVerilog real-number models of complex analog IPs that interface with digital control blocks. Your daily tasks include partnering with analog designers to define model specifications, developing and verifying models through simulations, creating testbenches for standalone validation, and integrating models into full-chip simulation environments. You will also maintain model libraries, create accuracy metrics, and participate in design reviews. The role requires a solid understanding of digital and analog circuit fundamentals, proficiency in SystemVerilog, and experience with power management circuits like LDOs and buck converters. Familiarity with mixed-signal simulation tools and scripting languages such as Python is essential for automating workflows and enhancing productivity across Apple's extensive product portfolio.

What you'll do

  • Develop SystemVerilog real-number models from analog schematics and design specifications.
  • Verify models by comparing them against schematic simulations, identifying and resolving mismatches.
  • Create testbenches in SystemVerilog to validate standalone models.
  • Integrate models into full-chip DMS simulation environments for mixed-signal verification.
  • Maintain and update model libraries across project generations to ensure accuracy and reusability.
  • Develop metrics and regression suites to monitor model quality over time.

What we're looking for

  • At least 3 years of industry experience with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Solid understanding of both digital and analog circuit fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog for real-number modeling (RNM).
  • Ability to read and interpret analog schematics and simulation results.
  • Experience with power management circuits like LDOs, buck converters, charge pumps, or voltage references.
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal or digital simulation tools such as Xcelium or Virtuoso.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and analysis of modeling workflows.
