The Digital Architect joins the Patient Services Domain Architecture team to design and govern the technology backbone for global Patient Support Programs. In this hands-on technical leadership role, you will own architecture decisions for the patient experience ecosystem, including digital experiences, cloud platforms, and data flows. You will build scalable designs, produce blueprints and C4 models, and lead the transition toward agentic AI and intelligent connected experiences. Key responsibilities include managing integrations and data flows across AWS, Salesforce, Snowflake, and Informatica/IICS. You will apply API-first, event-driven, and microservices patterns while utilizing Infrastructure as Code like Terraform or CloudFormation. The role solves complex problems regarding patient privacy, PHI/PII protection, and regulatory compliance within a highly regulated life sciences environment to ensure seamless, secure, and compliant patient interactions.
Lead end-to-end architecture for the Patient Experience domain, translating business requirements into scalable designs for digital experiences and cloud-native applications.
Produce hands-on architecture deliverables including blueprints, current/target-state architectures, ADRs, and C4 models for engineering teams.
Own and evolve the technology roadmap for AWS, Salesforce, Snowflake, and Informatica/IICS to address modernization and technical debt.
Architect integrations and data flows between patient platforms, specialty pharmacies, and external partners using AWS serverless services.
Define and govern reusable API contracts, event patterns, and messaging standards for resiliency and observability across the ecosystem.
Design agentic workflows and architecture for Generative AI, establishing patterns for agent-to-agent interoperability and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Ensure all designs comply with enterprise standards, patient privacy (PHI/PII) regulations, and production-grade security requirements.
Provide architectural stewardship throughout the solution lifecycle by reviewing designs and guiding engineering teams toward approved patterns.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree required; Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
Must have 5 years of experience in technical architecture or senior engineering roles designing integrations and platforms, or 7 years of experience in similar roles.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification is required.
Must have hands-on experience designing secure, resilient, and scalable cloud-native solutions on AWS.
Must have deep command of enterprise integration patterns including API, batch, event-driven, asynchronous messaging, and orchestration.
Must have experience architecting Salesforce integrations or related CRM/patient engagement platforms.
Must have experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation/CDK, and modern CI/CD or DevSecOps practices.
Experience in Life Sciences, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments is strongly preferred.
