Development Lab Test Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead and execute environmental and reliability test campaigns for OISL aerospace hardware.
• Operate specialized equipment including thermal chambers, vacuum chambers, vibration tables, and shock tables.
• Manage multiple concurrent test campaigns by coordinating resources, schedules, and equipment to maintain program velocity.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of test technicians.
• Translate engineering requirements into detailed execution procedures and work instructions for the technician team.
• Generate comprehensive test reports and capture detailed run notes for post-test data processing.
• Drive continuous improvement of environmental test processes to increase throughput and production efficiency.
• Lead investigations into technical anomalies that occur during active test executions.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 4+ years of experience in hardware development, test labs, space/aerospace maintenance, or hands-on engineering environments.
• Experience operating environmental test equipment including thermal chambers, vacuum chambers, vibration systems, and data acquisition systems.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent test campaigns while coordinating resources and schedules in a lab environment.
• Experience analyzing post-test data, writing reports, and performing root cause analysis on failures.
• Familiarity with aerospace test standards such as MIL-STD-810 or MIL-STD-1540.
• Experience with test instrumentation installation including accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gauges, and force sensors.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
