Database Service Manager

What you'll do

• Architect and lead database platform solutions for on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Research and implement RDBMS technologies including SQL Server, Oracle, Columnar, and NoSQL/Graph databases.
• Develop and maintain the database technology roadmap in coordination with Enterprise Architecture teams.
• Design and implement solutions for backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Manage daily operational tasks including installation, patching, and upgrades with managed services providers.
• Oversee Change, Incident, and Problem Management tickets to ensure compliance with SLAs.
• Maintain the database inventory and manage all current and future licensing needs.
• Automate database activities using modern AI tools while ensuring security and performance standards.

What we're looking for

• Must have a bachelor’s degree, relevant military experience at or above U.S. E5 ranking, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• Must have the legal ability to work in the United States.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle RDBMS technologies.
• Must have experience with a major cloud provider database platform, preferably Azure Cloud.
• Must be proficient with underlying operating systems including Windows and Linux.
• Must have a strong understanding of basic network and security concepts, especially modern cloud features.
• Exposure to SAP HANA and other modern databases like Azure Cosmos is a definite plus (preferred).
