Database Engineer, RAG Platform Developer

What you'll do

• Architect and optimize SQL and vector database infrastructure for enterprise-scale design data.
• Lead technical decisions regarding database architecture, scaling patterns, and technology selection for the RAG platform.
• Build and refine data ingestion pipelines to enable seamless onboarding of diverse datasets.
• Improve RAG retrieval performance through hybrid search strategies, index tuning, and embedding optimization.
• Develop and maintain database operations procedures, monitoring systems, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor database health and performance metrics for a multi-tenant system.
• Contribute to full-stack development using Python and JavaScript.
• Mentor other engineers on database best practices and scalable design patterns.

What we're looking for

• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript.
• Production experience deploying and managing vector databases like Milvus, Qdrant, or Weaviate at scale.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL in production environments.
• Understanding of RAG pipelines, including embedding strategies, chunking, and retrieval optimization.
• Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong SQL proficiency with deep knowledge of query planning, indexing, and optimization techniques.
• Experience managing large-scale databases serving high-concurrency workloads.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes for stateful applications and database deployments.
