Data Scientist, Core Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Analyze infrastructure usage and workloads to predict demand for capacity planning.
• Develop models and strategies for efficient compute resource consumption and provisioning.
• Use quantitative methods to automate fleet decisions and optimize resource allocation.
• Provide actionable insights to improve infrastructure operations, reduce costs, and increase reliability.
• Partner with engineering and finance teams to drive data-driven infrastructure decisions.
• Translate complex technical analyses into strategic recommendations for senior leadership.

What we're looking for

• Minimum education: PhD with 3+ years, MS/MA with 6+ years, or BS/BA with 8+ years of experience in data science or quantitative modeling.
• 3 to 8+ years of experience focused on infrastructure, cloud environments, and resource utilization or allocation.
• Proficiency in SQL and a programming language such as Python or R.
• Experience analyzing logs/telemetry, scheduling optimization, or cloud infrastructure engineering.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-disciplinary teams like engineering and finance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail.
• Solid business acumen and experience synthesizing complex analyses into actionable recommendations.
• Track record of building relationships with and influencing the decisions of senior technical leadership.
