As a Data Science Intern - Summer 2027, you will join the Data Science & Analytics community to develop machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions across various strategic initiatives. Your daily responsibilities include creating statistical models, building AI workflows, identifying valuable data sources, and developing long-term tools to evolve business processes. You will provide economic and statistical support for business decisions while translating complex data-driven insights into presentations for diverse partners. The role requires proficiency in Python for modeling and inference, along with strong communication skills to explain methodologies to non-technical audiences. Preferred technical skills include SQL, Unix, Git, and experience with cloud-native environments like AWS Sagemaker or GCP Agent Platform. You may also utilize prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and LLM evaluation to solve complex problems within the insurance industry.

What we're looking for
Must be pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a similar analytical field.
Experience in statistical modeling, inference, and building machine learning algorithms using Python.
Strong communication skills to explain methodologies, visualizations, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to maintain organized project notes, version history, and technical documentation.
Exposure to building modeling solutions in cloud-native environments like AWS Sagemaker or GCP Agent Platform (preferred).
Understanding of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agent workflow, and LLM evaluation (preferred).
