Data Science Intern, Algorithms (Summer 2027) joins the Data Science Team to build mathematical models underpinning core platform services. This role involves partnering with engineers and product managers to frame problems mathematically and within a business context. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing exploratory data analysis, writing production modeling code, designing and running simulated or live traffic experiments, and analyzing experimental and observational data to facilitate launch decisions. The work focuses on optimization, machine learning, and inference across transportation and mapping domains. Candidates will utilize Python, SQL, R, and standard libraries including NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, SpaCy, and NLTK. The role requires expertise in mathematical modeling, machine learning fundamentals, or probabilistic and statistical modeling to solve complex problems involving pricing, dispatch, incentives, and marketplace dynamics within a dynamic transportation environment.
