Data Science Intern, Algorithms

What you'll do

• Frame complex problems mathematically and within the business context alongside cross-functional partners.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to gain deeper insights into specific business problems.
• Write production-level modeling code for algorithmic implementation.
• Design and execute both simulated and live traffic experiments.
• Analyze experimental and observational data to inform product decisions.
• Communicate findings through presentations and reports to facilitate launch decisions.
• Construct and fit statistical or optimization models for automated decision making.
• Build, tune, and deploy machine learning models with a focus on feature engineering.

What we're looking for

• Must be currently pursuing a Master's or PhD degree in a relevant field such as Operations Research, Computer Science, Statistics, or Economics.
• Graduation date must fall between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Must be available for an internship in San Francisco during Summer 2027.
• Proficiency in Python is required.
• Experience with SQL, R, and standard data science libraries like NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• Expertise in optimization and mathematical modeling, machine learning fundamentals, or probabilistic and statistical modeling.
• Experience in experimental design, analysis, and exploratory data analysis.
• Experience in marketplace design, ridesharing, two-sided marketplaces, or transportation (preferred).
