JOB TITLE: Data Lake Engineer
As a Data Lake Engineer, you will join the team to lead the design of data architecture solutions for DoW data-driven projects. You will resolve routine architecture issues by collaborating with business analysts and technology teams to analyze mission needs and provide optimization recommendations. Your daily responsibilities include leading your team to design, define, develop, and test cloud solution components while serving as a liaison between clients and developers. You will utilize ETL processes, Databricks platform administration, Unity Catalog, and Delta Lake optimization. Technical requirements include experience with SysEngOps, DevSecOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This role solves complex data management challenges to deliver leading-edge solutions for warfighters within a Department of War context.
Lead the design of data architecture solutions for DoW data-driven projects.
Resolve routine data architecture issues by analyzing mission needs and recommending optimizations.
Develop ETL data pipelines and optimize Delta Lake performance.
Lead the team in designing, defining, developing, and testing cloud solution components.
Serve as a liaison between clients and developers to ensure requirements are met.
Administer the Databricks platform, including workspace configuration and Unity Catalog.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and version control systems for automated deployment and governance.
Manage cloud security, role-based access control, and compliance with DoW data policies.
What we're looking for
TS/SCI clearance is required.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, Data Science, Business Administration, or Engineering Management is required.
2+ years of experience managing enterprise data architecture, Databricks administration, and cloud-based data platforms is required with a Master's degree.
11+ years of experience managing enterprise data architecture, Databricks administration, and cloud-based data platforms is required in lieu of a degree.
Experience in Databricks platform administration, including workspace configuration, Unity Catalog, cluster performance tuning, and cloud integration is required.
Experience in ETL data pipeline development, Delta Lake optimization, and AI/ML workflow integration is required.
Experience in SysEngOps, DevSecOps, version control systems like Git, and CI/CD pipelines is required.
Experience in cloud security, RBAC, and compliance with DoW data policies across AWS, Azure, and GCP is required.
Experience working within DoW/IC environments is preferred.
