The Data Integration Framework Developer - Java, AVP joins the CRD Engineering organization to design, build, and evolve data integration capabilities for the Next-Gen Data Platform within the State Street Alpha ecosystem. The developer will build APIs and services for batch, near-real-time, and event-driven data ingestion and transformation workflows. Key technologies include Java, Spring-based frameworks, SQL, Microsoft Azure, Kafka, and Snowflake. The position also requires supporting existing internal frameworks built with Pentaho Kettle and Talend. The developer will solve complex distributed systems problems, ensuring high performance and reliability for mission-critical enterprise integrations and large-scale data transformation processes within a high-performance financial services environment.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale, cloud-native data integration services using microservices and serverless patterns.
  • Build APIs and services to support batch, near-real-time, and event-driven data ingestion and transformation workflows.
  • Develop and deploy software primarily using Java, SQL, and Microsoft Azure cloud-native technologies.
  • Support and enhance existing internal Java-based import/export frameworks and Talend-based enterprise integration frameworks.
  • Write unit, integration, and automation tests to ensure platform reliability and high quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed, cloud-based production systems, including performing root-cause analysis.
  • Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance on design and implementation decisions.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and operational runbooks.

What we're looking for

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field required.
  • M.S. degree preferred.
  • 4–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience designing and developing cloud-native services, preferably on Microsoft Azure (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with microservices architectures, serverless technologies, and event-driven systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and solid experience with SQL and data-intensive applications.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience with Azure services, containerization, Snowflake, or financial services (preferred).
