TL;DR · Control Systems Engineer

The Control Systems Engineer joins the team to ensure the availability, reliability, and operational integrity of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and SCADA systems supporting critical infrastructure and mission-critical facilities. This role involves overseeing deployment, monitoring, and performing advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis to minimize downtime. The engineer will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC teams to integrate control systems, interpret engineering drawings, and develop technical training programs for field staff. Key responsibilities include managing vendor relationships, coordinating system upgrades, and implementing procedural changes. Technical requirements include experience with Ignition, Tridium Niagara Framework (N4), Microsoft Windows environments, and industrial automation software. The role specifically addresses the challenge of maintaining high-availability systems while utilizing protocols such as BACnet and Modbus to solve complex infrastructure problems within critical facility environments.

What you'll do

  • Oversee the deployment, operation, and monitoring of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) to ensure mission-critical uptime.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics, root cause analysis, and rapid troubleshooting to resolve system malfunctions.
  • Integrate mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems with control platforms based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Develop and deliver technical training programs for field staff regarding reliability and incident response.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and contractors to coordinate technical support and oversee system upgrades.
  • Implement procedural and policy changes across sites to ensure operational consistency and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform configuration management and administration of control system databases and industrial automation software.

What we're looking for

  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in control systems engineering.
  • Proven experience supporting Industrial Control Systems (ICS) in high-availability or mission-critical environments.
  • Hands-on expertise integrating mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems with ICS platforms.
  • Extensive experience with control system configuration and management, preferably using Ignition.
  • Experience with Tridium Niagara Framework (N4), BACnet, Modbus protocols, or DG Logik Control Systems.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, or similar are preferred.
