Data Center Network Architect

What you'll do

• Design and operationalize innovative products for hyper-scale network infrastructure.
• Partner with architects to implement the future vision of Apple's network.
• Manage vendor relationships, draft RFPs, and qualify hardware and software solutions.
• Influence hardware design decisions and provide integration plans for infrastructure teams.
• Optimize network performance and tune large-scale routing and switching features.
• Implement network-layer security mechanisms across global data center environments.
• Deploy and scale overlay networking technologies such as VXLAN, GRE, and IPSec.
• Develop automation tools and scripts using languages like Python, Swift, or Golang.

What we're looking for

• Subject matter expertise in routing and switching.
• In-depth understanding of switching ASICs from multiple providers.
• Knowledge of multi-vendor and open source network operating system architecture and design.
• Sophisticated knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and large scale network features.
• Experience deploying and scaling overlay networking technologies like VXLAN, GRE, and IPSec.
• Technical background in network-layer security mechanisms and cloud-scale networking.
• 10+ years of experience building, securing, and deploying large scale data center network environments.
• Proficiency in at least one software language such as Swift, Golang, or Python.
