Cybersecurity Network Engineers

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructure for the VA NEDIIS program.
• Provide detailed specifications and schematics for network architecture and hardware/software implementation.
• Configure and manage Cisco WAN/LAN routers, switches, and Firepower Threat Defense firewalls.
• Troubleshoot complex routing and switching issues across diverse enterprise environments.
• Perform detailed packet capture analysis using tools like Wireshark to diagnose security and network issues.
• Maintain technical expertise in interconnecting routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways.
• Ensure network operations comply with federal cybersecurity principles including NIST, Zero Trust, and STIGs.
• Support network escalations in a 24/7 environment as needed.

What we're looking for

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Must have 3+ years of related experience.
• Must have 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, telecom operations, or network modernization efforts.
• Must have a strong background in LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, routing, VoIP/SIP, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud networking.
• Must have a strong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals, DNS, FTP, SSH, ACLs, VLANs, DMZ architectures, and BGP.
• Must have thorough knowledge of VPN technologies including IPSEC, DMVPN, Site-to-Site VPN, L3VPN, and VPLS.
• Must have expertise installing and configuring Cisco WAN/LAN routers and switches (ASR, ISR, Catalyst, NX-OS, Nexus platforms).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain MBI (T2) Public Trust Suitability.
• Must have Cisco Certified CCNA, CCNP, CCDP (or equivalent) (preferred).
• Must have Cisco CCIE Security (preferred).
• Must have CompTIA Security (preferred).
