As a Cyber Security Analyst within the C5ISR Defensive Cyber Solutions Branch, you will join a high-visibility Security Operations Center to protect Department of Defense networks and data from sophisticated threats. You will lead investigations throughout the incident response lifecycle, correlating security events, logs, and network data to determine the scope of cyber incidents. Your daily work involves analyzing endpoint artifacts, NetFlow, and full packet captures to identify malicious activity and attacker tactics. You will tune SIEM and IDS technologies while developing playbooks and reporting findings in case management systems. The role requires proficiency in TCP/IP, Unix-based systems, and cloud security across AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Cloud. Essential skills include analyzing high volumes of network traffic to defend the DoD Information Network against advanced persistent threat actors in a multi-tenant environment.

What you'll do

  • Lead and coordinate investigations throughout the entire incident response lifecycle from detection to remediation.
  • Correlate and analyze security events, logs, and network data to determine the scope of cyber incidents.
  • Analyze endpoint and network artifacts, including NetFlow and full packet captures, to identify malicious activity.
  • Identify attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and indicators of compromise (IOCs).
  • Tune and maintain SIEM and IDS technologies to reduce false positives and improve detection effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain incident response processes, workflows, and playbooks.
  • Document investigations in case management systems and prepare clear, actionable incident reports.

What we're looking for

  • U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance and SAP Eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree and 4–8 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.
  • Security+ CE and CSSP-Infrastructure Support certifications.
  • Hands-on experience using an enterprise SIEM platform to analyze security logs and network data.
  • Experience with network traffic, packet analysis, NetFlow, and understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI model.
  • Understanding of cloud security concepts and familiarity with Unix-based systems.
  • Experience in a 24x7 SOC or cyber operations environment (preferred).
  • Familiarity with threat frameworks like Cyber Kill Chain or intelligence-driven defense (preferred).
