What you'll do

Develop and maintain software to manage Apache Zookeeper and ETCD distributed coordination systems.
Build applications and tooling for maintenance automation, monitoring, alerting, and dashboards.
Contribute upstream patches to the database to improve stability, performance, and scaling.
Design and manage deployment architectures for large-scale data-center infrastructure.
Define performance metrics, optimization opportunities, and quality guardrails for cloud services.
Manage service migrations across bare metal, virtualized, and Kubernetes platforms.
Perform performance engineering including profile-guided optimization and system-level hardware analysis.

What we're looking for

BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Go (golang), or Python.
Understanding of core SRE concepts including monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
Understanding of database concepts such as consistency models, isolation levels, and crash and recovery semantics.
Knowledge of performance engineering design concepts and profile-guided optimization.
Knowledge of operating systems concepts including process scheduling, disk and network I/O, and performance.
Knowledge of datacenter architecture, multi-datacenter systems, failure domains, and wide-area networking.
Experience developing critical internet services, platform infrastructure, or distributed databases (preferred).
