As a Vice President of Software Engineering within the Controllers division, you will lead a small, agile team responsible for developing critical software solutions that manage profit and loss (P&L), capital, balance sheet metrics, liquidity, and regulatory filings. Your day-to-day involves building and maintaining complex financial systems, defining long-term visions for product development, and collaborating with other divisions to ensure compliance with evolving regulations such as Basel 3. You will leverage your expertise in Java and other programming languages, along with knowledge of both traditional RDBMS and modern NoSQL datastores, to create robust platforms that support real-time decision-making and market insights. This role offers the opportunity to engage directly with senior management across various business areas, driving impactful initiatives at a global scale.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain financial systems for P&L, capital, balance sheet, liquidity metrics, and regulatory obligations.
  • Define long-term vision for systems supporting evolving business strategies in a changing regulatory landscape.
  • Develop high-level technical designs, testing strategies, and implementation plans for complex software solutions.
  • Partner with other divisions to ensure alignment on goals and requirements for financial control systems.
  • Implement best practices for software development and engineering processes to maintain system integrity.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of engineering industry experience
  • 5+ years of development experience with Java and other programming languages
  • Knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL datastores
  • Experience designing and architecting complex financial systems
  • Strong project management and people management skills
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and business audiences
  • Experience in the financial domain and regulatory compliance
