What you'll do

  • Develop independent pre-negotiation positions by reviewing specifications, labor/material estimates, and subcontractor quotes.
  • Negotiate agreements and commit the company to original contract terms and subsequent changes.
  • Maintain hardcopy contracts files and all required legal documentation, reports, and correspondence.
  • Advise Project Managers on contract performance by interpreting specific clauses and government regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Planning and Estimating Department to draft and finalize contract line items.
  • Develop pricing for and negotiate new growth work and contract changes.
  • Research and resolve contract disputes and terms of condition to determine responsibility.
  • Draft official correspondence regarding cost limitations and coordinate the pursuit of additional funding.

What we're looking for

  • Must have a BA/BS in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field plus 2 years of experience, an AA/AS plus 4 years, or 8 years of experience.
  • Must possess knowledge of Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
  • Must have experience with various government contract types including firm-fixed-price and cost-type contracts.
  • Must have proficiency in writing and negotiating complex contractual terms and conditions in a government context.
  • Must possess strong computer, accounting, analytical, negotiating, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to grasp and understand technical concepts and applications.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen who qualifies for a Common Access Card (CAC) and a security clearance.
  • Must be able to work in a naval-ship environment, including climbing ladders and working in tanks or confined spaces.
