Cellular System Performance Characterization Engineer

What you'll do

• Perform bringup and characterization of cellular end-to-end systems with a focus on 5G-NR performance.
• Optimize RF and system performance in lab environments using various measurement tools.
• Validate data and control flows from the Baseband to the RF across critical metrics.
• Conduct pre-silicon emulation-based bringup and simulation-based validation of algorithms and control flows.
• Develop in-house scripting tools for troubleshooting during chipset bringup and instrument automation.
• Analyze and present key performance metric data using specialized analytics tools.
• Maintain high-quality hardware platforms to support daily firmware releases and continuous development.
• Enhance measurement methodologies and software packages to improve coverage and efficiency in the design validation process.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor of Science degree required; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience in bring up or performance characterization of wireless systems focusing on PHY and RF layers.
• Hands-on experience with cellular chipsets and RFIC bring up in a lab environment.
• Proficiency in using lab equipment such as VSA, VSG, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
• Solid understanding of communication theory, signal processing, AGC, beamforming, and Tx power control.
• Knowledge of RF performance metrics including EVM, spectral mask, frequency error, and power accuracy.
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, Matlab, and experience with automation scripting and analytics platforms.
