Staff Software Engineer, Cash App Banking

What you'll do

• Develop and execute technical strategies for the Banking organization in partnership with product and business leads.
• Drive cross-cutting architectural decisions and infrastructure improvements to ensure system robustness and scalability.
• Influence organizational leaders to ensure consistent and efficient technical decision-making across the company.
• Contribute directly to technical designs and perform hands-on code contributions for core products.
• Coach and mentor engineers to expand their technical breadth and depth beyond their immediate teams.
• Maintain high engineering standards for yourself and your teammates across all projects.
• Apply an AI-first mindset to everyday work and raise the bar for AI applications across the team.

What we're looking for

• 12+ years of software development or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading large scale features, including planning, managing, and executing delivery projects.
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience identifying, aligning, and landing globally optimal solutions in complex systems with many moving parts.
• Ability to design and build creative solutions to complex problems.
• Strong track record in coaching and mentoring other engineers to grow their technical breadth and depth.
• Ability to partner with product managers, designers, and business leads to execute technical strategies.
• Ability to influence leaders across the organization to drive consistent and efficient technical decisions.
