JOB TITLE: Camera Image Quality Tuning Engineer
The Camera SW Image Quality team is seeking a Camera Image Quality Tuning Engineer to shape the image quality and user experience of camera products. You will work side-by-side with engineers to tune and tweak complex camera pipelines and algorithms, perform critical IQ analysis, and drive feature development from conception to completion. Key responsibilities include participating in quality evaluations for new features and algorithms while providing direct feedback to engineering teams. You must possess a technical understanding of 3A’s, denoising, sharpening, fusion, and tone-mapping algorithms, as well as machine learning based approaches. Required skills include proficiency in C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Python, or shell programming. This role focuses on innovating camera pipeline improvements for technologies like Deep Fusion, SmartHDR, Night Mode, and Portrait Mode.
Tune and tweak complex camera pipelines and image processing algorithms.
Perform critical image quality analysis to evaluate camera performance.
Drive new camera feature development from initial conception to final completion.
Optimize 3A systems to enhance and improve overall image quality.
Provide direct technical feedback to engineering teams on new features and algorithms.
Present technical findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Innovate camera pipeline improvements to deliver best-in-class user experiences.
What we're looking for
Minimum of 2 years of experience in image quality testing, tuning, or image processing algorithms.
Bachelor’s Degree in Imaging Science, Imaging Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Color Science, or a related field.
Strong understanding and hands-on experience with 3A’s, denoising, sharpening, fusion, and tone-mapping algorithms.
Technical familiarity with machine learning and image processing technologies.
Proficiency in at least one of the following: C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Python, or shell programming.
Excellent photography, videography, and cinematography skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
Experience with software and hardware on consumer devices and cell phone cameras (preferred).
