Avionics Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Represent the Starship avionics system throughout all stages of integration from production to launch.
• Triage, troubleshoot, and repair electrical hardware issues on an aggressive production schedule.
• Support vehicle pad and flight operations as an avionics operator to evaluate vehicle health in real time.
• Resolve real-time issues during operations and recommend the appropriate path forward.
• Contribute to new avionics vehicle architectures that minimize mass, cost, and labor.
• Drive future improvements to minimize the recurrence of hardware issues.
• Troubleshoot avionics subsystems including power distribution, vehicle networks, sensors, actuators, and RF.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, science, or math.
• 1+ years of experience with electrical component design, system level integration of electronic components, or system level testing.
• 1+ years of experience using software tools such as Matlab, C++, or Python.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required Department of State authorizations.
• Competence with electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies (preferred).
• Experience troubleshooting sensors, actuators, and electrical components (preferred).
• Experience with 3D CAD software (preferred).
• Operations experience in flight test, piloting aircraft, or controlling high consequence systems in real time (preferred).
