Avionics Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Represent Starship avionics systems through all stages of production, testing, and launch preparation.
• Triage, troubleshoot, and repair electrical hardware issues on an aggressive production schedule.
• Perform root cause analysis to drive improvements and prevent the recurrence of electrical failures.
• Act as an avionics operator during pad and flight operations to monitor vehicle health in real time.
• Resolve technical issues during live operations and recommend immediate paths forward for mission success.
• Design new avionics architectures to minimize mass, cost, and labor requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex subsystems including power distribution, vehicle networks, sensors, actuators, compute, RF, and video.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, science, or math.
• 1+ years of experience with electrical component design, system level integration, or system level testing.
• 1+ years of experience using software tools such as Matlab, C++, or Python.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
• Competence with electrical test equipment like multimeters and oscilloscopes (preferred).
• Experience troubleshooting sensors, actuators, and electrical components (preferred).
• Experience with 3D CAD software (preferred).
• Operations experience in flight test, piloting aircraft, or controlling high consequence systems in real time (preferred).
